The Legacy Lives On...
The Legacy Lives On...

Although LWF, the backyard federation may have closed its doors, the LWFers, pro and former, continue to remember the single thing that drove a group of kids for nearly 7 years.

LWF TIME LINE

circa September '96:
The LWF holds it's first event in The Pinnacle's (then known as The Ref) living room, it consists of a single shoot-style match-up for the LWF Heavy-weight Championship between The Mexican Molester & Jarrod "The King" Gideon, less than a week later, the 2nd LWF Event is held infront of a crowd of 10 to 12, with The Mexican Molester putting his title on the line against Damian Skitts. Within the next few months, the LWF Arena is moved into The Pinnacle's garage, and two layers of carpet are set up as 'the ring', several classic LWFers make their debut, including The Ref, The Cannuck, Cool Cat, & Buzzomb (aka Commander/Crazy Mole)...Armageddon (The Tank (Jarrod "The King" Gideon & The Destroyer (The Mexican Molester) are crowned the 1st LWF Tag Team Champs, the LWF Heavy-weight Championship is renamed 'The Gaunlet". Several attempts are made to tie in story-lines/angles by The Ref to no avail. The LWF continues to be shoot-style wrestling.

December '97: The first "Total Chaos" is held at The Ref's birthday party, it features a band, and a full card of wrestling matches, several events are held each month following, LWF's 'first' PPVs so to speak. The Ref (then known as The Archangel) books angles, but since the matches are still shoot style, as well as the fact that it's hard to organize a bunch of teenagers.

Early '98: The first 'worked' match between Cool Cat & The Tank is help in an empty LWF Arena, yet the remainder of the matches are still shoot-style, the LWF begins to run shows in places other than The Garage, a second singles championship is created, The LWF Garage Championship (a hardcore style division) the LWF seemingly dies down as the school year lets out, with it's last real show being the second LWF Kaos, featuring the debut of Hell-bent.

Summer '99: The LAST shoot-style LWF event is held outside The Pinnacle's apartment after his bachelor party...Super Dave (aka Special Ed) Big Red (aka Scary Gary Homicide) and the offical debut of The Dallas Stars (The Regulators Gideon & Vermin)...a seemingly farewell event, the little do the LWFers know that the REAL LWF is about to begin-

It is a long time until another LWF event happens...
